Calabar Carnival; 25 Countries to Participate

If there's a place to be this festive period, every Nigerian knows its most definitely the city of Calabar as 25 African countries and other continent are expected to participate in the 2017 edition of the festivals, this disclosure was made by Mr Ken Aklah the Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Events Management on Wednesday in Calabar during a press conference.

According to Mr. Ken, the increased number of countries participating in this years event is an indication that th annual event is growing bigger and getting better. He also indicated a list of countries which participated last year and they included South Korea, Brazil,Morocco, Tanzania,  South African and a host of others.

Giving an estimate to the audience received from the last event, he noted that a total of 264 million live audience watched the Carnival via social media platform, and 55 countries  watched from DSTV.
Mr. Ken also revealed that for a product to last more than a decade, there needs to be innovation so as a result, more exciting events and content have been included to this years event which amongst others include the"BLACK AFRICAN FESTIVAL"so as to attract more audience and increase its tempo.

According to him, some of the introduction to the festival includes the Wonder of Wheel, which allows for tourist to see vintage cars and this is because over 800000 people watch if from the streets. also, there's a creation of veritable platforms for both local and international artiste to perform.
Mr. Tom Ikpeme who happens to be the organizer of the Africa Beauty Queen Pageant added that artiste to perform include Mafikozolo, Tuface, Davido, Timaya and Teckno.
